Fennel seed has a powerful internal benefit when used as a tea to soothe and heal the symptoms of a bloated, cramping and gas filled abdomen. In addition, it also relieves the heat, pain and dull ache of menstruation felt amongst many women. However, massage externally using fennel seed and sesame oil can also be of immense relief in getting the stressed abdominal site to relax and gently moving the air-blocked gastro-intestinal tract or spasming muscles.
The below massage oil can be used in a massage before a shower and deeply aid in pacification the above symptoms. This can be used daily as required 1-2 times morning and night if needed. In Ayurveda, when massaging the front of the body, particularly the abdomen, it is important to use slow, whole-hand movements working in a clockwise direction only. Start from the belly button, using pressure that is comfortable, and then begin to work out to the wider abdomen slowly.
