Acne is a common skin ailment that can be sore, chronic and create lesions which are stubborn and tricky to heal. The combination of curry leaf, turmeric and buttermilk is soothing and deeply healing for the symptoms of acne but also dries excess oil from the skin, providing relief from heavy grease in the pores. This mask is also beneficial for ridding blackheads, dark circles under the eyes and puffiness in the face.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
A small handful fresh curry leaves
A 2-4 cm piece fresh turmeric
Buttermilk
Mortar and pestle
METHOD
In your mortar and pestle, put the fresh curry leaves and the piece of turmeric, pounding and grinding until a smooth paste begins to form. If it becomes dry, that's ok.
While still stirring the paste, slowly add a little buttermilk to make a slightly wet paste that will not run off the face.
Lying down, gently apply (or get someone else to) the paste to the areas of the face needing attention. As turmeric is slightly staining to the skin, this mask is best applied at night and washed off well with warm water after 10-15 minutes.
Allow the skin to air-dry and repeat daily if required.
