CINNAMON, TURMERIC & HONEY - A REMEDY FOR ITCHING

Updated: Jan 1, 2023

Itching skin brought on by allergies, recovering bites/stings, inflammation and skin conditions can be enough to drive you crazy. Itching generally is associated with a vitiated Kapha dosha, meaning the water and earth elements are out of balance in the body. Honey is one of the optimum Anupana or carriers for healing medicines relating to the Kapha dosha. It has effective anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, drying and forming properties. Combined with cinnamon and turmeric, this honey-based remedy can be used by young and old for relief from itching. If you have diabetes or are on a sugar-reduced diet, you can simply add the spices to water but increase to 1/2 a teaspoon of each. For specific and ongoing conditions causing itching, please seek the guidance of your Ayurvedic Practitioner or chosen health care professional.
