Amlaki, or Gooseberry, is seen as a divine fruit in Ayurveda with exceptional healing qualities.
This sour little berry contains the highest level of Vitamin C found in the plant kingdom, containing about 720 to 921 mg of Vitamin C for every hundred grams of edible material. Incredible.
In addition, Amla enhances food absorption and balances the stomach acids (ideal for mild to moderate hyper acidity). Amla has a potent effect on the immune system through strengthening, regulating and cleansing almost all internal organs and systems. This little fruit is one of the three found in the Ayurvedic powder Triphala, a tri-doshic medicine used to heal multiple ailments (more info coming soon).
